Change is never easy, but sometimes it’s necessary. After a decade of leading the crew of Below Deck, Captain Lee Rosbach is officially stepping down and will be replaced by Captain Kerry Titheradge of Below Deck Adventure. This news comes just a few months after Captain Sandy Yawn stepped in to replace Lee during Below Deck season 10.

In this blog post, we’ll explore the reasons behind Lee’s departure, what Captain Kerry brings to the table, and how fans can expect the show to change with this new leadership.

First, let’s take a look at why Captain Lee decided to step down. During the December 2022 episode, viewers watched as Lee said goodbye to his crew before heading back to the U.S. to deal with ongoing health issues. He explained that his mobility had been struggling and that he had been letting the crew down. He wanted to “do right” by them by stepping aside.

Lee also told Us Weekly that his health issues were improving. He said, “Back surgery came out great, it really did. You will find this season that I do something that I’ve never, ever done before in my career or in my life. And there’s gonna be a lot of situations where you’re gonna go like, ‘Wow, didn’t see that coming at all.’ And not only will it be true for the viewers, [but] it was also true for myself and the crew.”

Now, let’s take a look at who will be taking Lee’s place. Captain Kerry Titheradge of Below Deck Adventure will be taking over for Lee in season 11 of the show. While he is a Bravo newbie, he already has the stamp of approval from Lee himself. During a round of golf, Lee gave Kerry the advice to “be himself” and to do his own social media.

Kerry also revealed that he then ran into Lee once again at BravoCon in October 2022, where the former restaurateur gave him words of encouragement ahead of the Adventure premiere.

So, what can fans expect from the show going forward? It’s unclear what changes Captain Kerry will bring to Below Deck, but we can expect to see a different dynamic between the crew and the captain. With any luck, Kerry will be able to bring a fresh perspective to the show and create some exciting new moments for viewers.

It’s always sad to see a beloved captain leave a show, but we’re excited to see what Captain Kerry brings to Below Deck. The show is set to begin filming in Grenada later this week, and we can’t wait to see what the new season has in store.
