The 2021 Grammy Awards were full of surprises and one of the most memorable moments of the night was Chris Brown’s reaction to the Best R&B Album award. After the announcement that Robert Glasper had won the award, Chris took to Instagram to express his disbelief with a series of since-deleted posts.

Chris Brown was nominated for the Best R&B Album award at the 2021 Grammy Awards. He was up against Mary J. Blige, Robert Glasper, Lucky Daye and PJ Morton, and was hopeful of winning the award. But when Robert was announced as the winner, Chris was not impressed and took to Instagram to express his disbelief. He posted a series of since-deleted stories, including one that read “Who the f–k is Robert Glasper? Ima keep kicking y’all ass! Respectfully.”

Chris’ nomination was for his 10th studio album, Breezy (Deluxe). The album featured collaborations with Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, Jack Harlow, H.E.R. and other artists. It was a body of work that Chris was proud of and he was hopeful of winning the award. But when Robert was announced as the winner, Chris was clearly not happy and chose to react with a series of since-deleted Instagram Stories.

Chris ended his response with a photoshopped image of himself playing the harmonica, quipping, “New Level Unlocked! Harmonica Breezy.” He then added, “I gotta get my skills up. Ima start playing the harmonica.”

It was an interesting reaction to the Best R&B Album award and it’s clear that Chris Brown was not impressed with the outcome. But the rapper’s reaction was certainly memorable and it’s a moment that will be talked about for years to come.
