We’ve all heard the stories about the incredible talent and success of Beyoncé. But have we ever stopped to consider the crushing weight of her excellence? With 32 record-breaking Grammy awards, she has made history like no other artist. Yet, in the 65th annual Grammy awards, she lost the coveted album of the year award to Harry Styles.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has been celebrated one moment and snubbed the next. In Grammy’s history, only three Black women have won album of the year. Sadly, Beyoncé still hasn’t joined their rank. Despite her talent and impact, she has been nominated for album of the year a total of four times — and lost every one.

From her first solo effort, “Dangerously in Love” to her surprise album “Beyoncé” to her magnum opus “Lemonade”, Beyoncé has consistently put it all on the floor. But every time, the Recording Academy has rejected her work, refusing to acknowledge her unapologetic genius outside of the confines of the urban contemporary genre.

We can’t help but feel for Beyoncé in her fourth defeat. But she always brings it, and her upcoming world tour is sure to be no exception. Through her music, Beyoncé continues to be a light for us all, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
