We’ve all been there. You know, the feeling of being dragged to a work thing by your significant other and the desire to be anywhere else. Well, it seems that Ben Affleck can relate. At the 2023 Grammy Awards, the internet went crazy over Affleck, 50, and not because everyone got another Bennifer moment. While sitting next to his wife Jennifer Lopez, 53, Affleck looked as though he wanted to be anywhere else.
The tweets poured in, with people comparing Affleck’s facial expressions to their own experiences. “Whoever keeps cutting to Ben Affleck as he gets more and more exasperated, thank you,” one person wrote. “Ben Affleck is every introvert everywhere. You can see his batteries draining in real time. Man is already at 23%,” another said.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Affleck though. He began the night merely smirking during Trevor Noah’s opening monologue roast, and later on during the ceremony, he seemed cheery when talking with actor Adrien Brody and was animated during their lively conversation.
As for J.Lo, she had an exciting night. The singer made a surprise appearance to present the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album, which went to Harry Styles for “Harry’s House.”
It’s amazing how one facial expression can tell a thousand stories. Ben Affleck’s night at the Grammys certainly did, and it’s one that will be remembered for a long time.
