Two police officers were tragically shot in Mitchell, Indiana early Sunday morning. The officers were flown to Indianapolis for treatment and, according to State Police, were conscious and alert. A suspect is in custody and the identities of both the officers and suspect have yet to be revealed. In light of this tragedy, the area of 4800 State Road 37 near Mitchell has been closed and the Indiana State Police are actively investigating the scene.
