The hashtag #TIMdown began trending on Twitter, with people from all over Italy reporting issues with their internet connection. Some users reported that the outage lasted for several hours, while others said that their connection was still down.
A spokesperson for Telecom Italia has not yet commented on the incident. However, the company did release a statement saying that they are “working on restoring service as quickly as possible.”
Although the cause of the blackout is still unknown, it is clear that it has had a significant impact on internet service across the country. This is especially concerning as many people rely on the internet for work, school, and other activities.
