In a world of ever-evolving technology, it’s no surprise that China has taken surveillance to a whole new level. Recently, it has been revealed that Chinese spy balloons traveled over the continental United States during the Trump administration – and it wasn’t until after former President Trump left office that this information was discovered.
According to a senior administration official, Chinese spy balloons briefly traveled over the United States at least three times during the Trump administration. Former President Trump and a number of his top national security and defense officials refuted the claim, telling Fox News Digital that it “never happened.”
However, U.S. intelligence assesses that Chinese spy balloons did in fact transit the continental U.S. multiple times, and that they went undetected. The official also stated that these balloons are part of a larger pattern, and have been spotted over countries across five continents, including in East Asia, South Asia, and Europe.
In addition, U.S. officials told Fox News that a Chinese spy balloon crashed into the Pacific off the coast of Hawaii four months ago, and that at least one Chinese spy balloon flew over portions of Texas and Florida during the Trump administration.
It’s clear that China is taking surveillance to a whole new level, and that the U.S. needs to be prepared for any potential threats. It’s also important to note that this information was only discovered after the Trump administration left office – and that these Chinese spy balloons went undetected for a significant amount of time.
