At just 9 years old, David Balogun has already achieved something extraordinary – he has graduated high school. Becoming a high school graduate is an accomplishment that many take years to achieve, but David Balogun has done it in a fraction of the time.

David, a Bucks County native, took classes remotely from home through the Reach Cyber Charter School in Harrisburg. His love of science and computer programming inspired him to pursue an education that would allow him to explore these topics further. His goal is to become an astrophysicist and study black holes and supernovas.

David’s parents have advanced degrees, but they have found it challenging to keep up with David’s extraordinary intellectual gifts. His mother, Ronya Balogun, said, “He’s a 9-year-old with a brain that does have the capacity to understand and comprehend a lot of concepts that are beyond his years. And sometimes beyond my understanding.”

David credits several of his favorite teachers for his academic success. His teacher, Cody Derr, said that David was an inspirational kid who changed the way they think about teaching.

After completing a semester at Bucks County Community College, David and his family are now looking at colleges and universities across the country to find one that is the perfect fit for him. In his free time, David enjoys playing sports, the piano, and working on his black belt in martial arts.

David Balogun is an incredible example of what is possible when you follow your dreams and work hard. He has achieved something remarkable at such a young age, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.
