At just nine years old, David Balogun has achieved something that many adults never have: a high school diploma. David, who lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, recently graduated from the Reach Cyber Charter School in Harrisburg after taking his classes remotely from home.

Though his parents have advanced degrees, raising a son with such extraordinary intellectual gifts can be a challenge. David’s mother, Ronya Balogun, says that her son’s brain has the capacity to understand concepts that are “beyond his years and beyond my understanding.”

David credits several of his favorite teachers for his academic success and says that he taught them a few things in the few years it took him to get through high school. His teacher Cody Derr commented that David was “an inspirational kid, definitely one who changes the way you think about teaching.”

After completing a semester at Bucks County Community College, David’s family is now looking at colleges and universities across the country to find the best fit for him. In addition to his love of learning, David also enjoys sports, playing the piano, and is working on his black belt in martial arts.

At just nine years old, David Balogun’s success is inspiring and a reminder that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. His story is a testament to the power of education and the potential of young minds.
