After a year-long search, two missing children were found in a Florida grocery store Wednesday. Brooke and Adrian Gilley, who had been reported missing since March 15, 2022, were discovered with their non-custodial mother, Kristi Nicole Gilley, 36, at a Winn Dixie store in High Springs, Florida. The reunion came after a routine vehicle tag check revealed that the owner was a fugitive.

The High Springs Police Department announced that Gilley was arrested on an active kidnapping warrant out of Clay County, Missouri. The warrant had been issued in July 2022, several months after the children had last been seen. After the arrest, Brooke and Adrian were turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families Services and will be reunited with their birth family.

The case of the missing Gilley children is a heartwarming reminder of the power of law enforcement and the importance of staying vigilant in the search for missing children. Thanks to the quick work of the High Springs Police Department, Brooke and Adrian will soon be reunited with their family.
