At 89 years old, Willie Nelson has accomplished more than most could ever dream of. From 10 Grammy Awards to a new campaign with BIC and Martha Stewart, the music legend is only looking forward. As Nelson turns 90 this April, his friends and fans are preparing an unforgettable two-night birthday celebration at the Hollywood Bowl.

It’s no surprise that the likes of Snoop Dogg, Beck, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges, and The Chicks are joining in on the festivities. After all, Nelson and Snoop have been friends for over a decade, and Snoop even shared a hilarious memory of their time together in Amsterdam on 4/20.

“We was in Amsterdam on 4/20, and he was doing a concert out there,” Snoop said on SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray. “So, we went back to his hotel room, and we was playing dominoes. Me and him were playing dominoes one-on-one. He whooping my ass, and I’m just getting higher and higher and higher. He just keep passing it to me, and I’m like, ‘This old motherf—er’s outsmoking me.'”

Nelson also reminisced on the trip, telling PEOPLE that the two “smoked a lot of marijuana and had a lot of fun.”

But it’s not just the fun times that Nelson is grateful for. Ahead of his 90th birthday, Nelson expressed gratitude for his entire journey thus far.

“I have been so fortunate this far, that I just hope for things to continue the way they are,” Nelson said. “I think it would be too much to ask for anything more than what I already have experienced.”

Nelson is also releasing a new studio album, I Don’t Know a Thing About Love, which pays tribute to songwriter Harlan Howard. When it comes to finding inspiration for new music, Nelson is sticking to old routines.

“I hope that if there is something out there I need to write, I hope my instincts will bring it to me,” he said. “That’s the way it always happens.”

At 89, Willie Nelson is still going strong and his fans can’t wait to celebrate his 90th birthday with him at the Hollywood Bowl. We can’t wait to see what the music legend has in store for us next.
