Max Verstappen, the two-time Formula 1 champion, and Red Bull have set their sights on a third consecutive drivers’ championship title and sixth constructors’ title. At the launch of the Red Bull RB19 in New York, Verstappen weighed up his team’s chances and discussed the competition.

The RB19 was unveiled with a spectacular launch event in Manhattan, where not only was the car’s livery revealed but also the news of Ford coming on board as engine partners in 2026. Verstappen stated that he was not thinking about a third title just yet, but rather focusing on making sure the car runs well and is quick. He also hasn’t seen the form of the actual RB19 that will take to the track in testing and in the opening race in Bahrain, as the car shown off in New York was a temporary ‘launch’ version.

When asked about his main competition, Verstappen said that while he believes Mercedes have the capability to be their main rival, he also has faith in his team that they can build a strong car. He also added that Ferrari will be strong, but it is difficult to say how strong.

The Dutchman and Red Bull have a lot of ambition and are determined to achieve a third consecutive drivers’ championship title and sixth constructors’ title. With the launch of the RB19, they have set the stage for a thrilling season ahead.
