After a year of searching, two missing children from Missouri have been found in a High Springs, Florida grocery store. In a stunning turn of events, the children were located by a routine vehicle tag check that revealed their alleged kidnapper, Kristi Nicole Gilley, 36, was a fugitive. Brooke and Adrian Gilley, the two children, were found with their mother, disguised and hiding in a Winn Dixie grocery store.
The children were reported missing since March 15, 2022, according to WFLA. A warrant was issued in July 2022, months after they were last seen, and Gilley was arrested on an active kidnapping charge out of Clay County, Missouri. The two children were then turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families Services and will be reunited with their birth family.
This story is a reminder of the importance of vigilance and the power of law enforcement to track down missing persons. It’s a miracle that the two children were found after a year of searching and will soon be reunited with their birth family. We should all take a moment to celebrate the safe return of Brooke and Adrian Gilley.
