After a year of searching, two children that had been missing from Missouri were located in a grocery store in High Springs, Florida. In a remarkable turn of events, the children were found with their non-custodial mother, Kristi Nicole Gilley, who had been wanted on an active kidnapping warrant issued months after the children had gone missing.

On Wednesday, the High Springs Police Department conducted a routine vehicle tag check that revealed the owner was a fugitive. The officers tracked them down to a Winn Dixie grocery store and found the two missing children, Brooke and Adrian Gilley, and their mother with disguises.

The warrant had been issued in July 2022, months after the children were last seen. After their discovery, the two children were turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families Services and will be reunited with their birth family.

The reunion of the two children with their family is a remarkable outcome of a year-long search. We are thankful for the High Springs Police Department for their diligence and commitment to reunite the two children with their family.
