It’s not every day that you see an NHL player take a unique approach to the All-Star Skills Competition. But that’s exactly what David Pastrnak did on Friday night. The Boston Bruins winger put on an unforgettable show at the 2023 NHL All-Star Skills Competition by channeling his inner Happy Gilmore.
Pastrnak, dressed as the hot-tempered hockey player/golfer from the Adam Sandler movie of the same name, took the ice with a putter in hand. He missed the net shooting the puck from the blue line with his putter. But never fear, he got his hockey stick back and justĀ “tapped it in”. The judges approved, giving Pastrnak 38 out of the possible 40 points.
The unique performance was a reminder that the All-Star Skills Competition is meant to be fun and entertaining. It was a great way to kick off the All-Star Game, which is slated for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. We can’t wait to see what other creative performances the players have in store.
