The return of Conor McGregor is one of the most talked about comebacks in the world of MMA. After a two-fight skid, McGregor will return to the octagon, but first he’ll coach against Michael Chandler for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31.

This highly anticipated season of TUF will premiere on ESPN/ESPN+ on May 30 and run through August 15. While no date or site has been set for the targeted fight between McGregor and Chandler, the two will face off in the octagon soon enough.

McGregor, the former UFC champion, last fought against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10, 2021. He has not fought since he broke his tibia in that match. This will be McGregor’s second TUF coaching stint in his career, and he will be facing off against Chandler (23-8), who has lost three of his four fights. His last outing was a submission by Poirier at UFC 281.

Chandler has been openly campaigning to be McGregor’s return fight for months and reacted to the news with enthusiasm. With the two rivals now facing off in the octagon, the anticipation for the fight is at an all-time high.

Tune in to ESPN/ESPN+ on May 30 for the start of the TUF season and to see the rivals go head to head. Who will come out on top? You’ll have to wait and see.
