It’s been a wild week for the mysterious Chinese balloon that had been soaring over Montana. After much speculation, political posturing, and memes, the balloon has been shot down – with a bang!
The Pentagon had announced earlier that they were considering taking the balloon down. President Joe Biden also weighed in, saying that “we’re gonna take care of it”. But after the balloon came down, we are still left with more questions than answers.
China has stated that the craft was a “civilian airship”, but what was its actual purpose? Visuals of the object showed it having some sort of sporting equipment, possibly including a solar array, hanging below its buoyant balloon portion.
