At just nine years old, David Balogun has already achieved an incredible feat – he has graduated high school. It’s not every day that you hear of such a young person graduating high school, but David is no ordinary kid. His parents, both of whom have advanced degrees, have had to adjust to raising a son with extraordinary intellectual gifts. David recently graduated from the Reach Cyber Charter School in Harrisburg, taking classes remotely from his home in Bucks County.

When asked what he wanted to be when he grows up, David said he wanted to be an astrophysicist, studying black holes and supernovas. His parents have seen first-hand the capacity of his young mind and the incredible learning opportunities he has taken advantage of. David credits several of his favorite teachers for his academic success, and they have said he taught them a few things too in the few years it took him to get through high school.

After completing a semester at Bucks County Community College, David and his family are now looking at colleges and universities across the country to find one that is the perfect fit for him. But so far, David and those around him have come up with the right answers. David loves learning, but he also enjoys playing sports, the piano, and is working on his black belt in martial arts. He is a truly remarkable young man and an inspiration to us all.
