The surprise was revealed when de Rossi approached DeGeneres in a bridal gown in front of party guests. Singer Brandi Carlile serenaded the couple with a guitar in-hand and Kris Jenner officiated the proceedings. DeGeneres was clearly shocked and exclaimed, “Oh, my god!”
De Rossi explained that she wanted guests “to witness a renewal of her commitment to Ellen, to honor and celebrate their marriage of 14 years.” She also added that there was no “greater accomplishment” for her than being loved by DeGeneres.
DeGeneres then spoke briefly and told de Rossi that “you save me every day. I’m the lucky one.” The couple initially tied the knot in 2008 in Beverly Hills in front of 15 guests.
